Missing Person in Marquette.

MARQUETTE, Mich. -On 2/22/2026, at approximately 3:08am, Trenton Massey of Marquette was reported missing.

Trenton Massey was last seen on video at 3:25am on 02/22/2026 in the area of East Baraga Avenue and the Founders’ Landing Boardwalk. Massey was last seen wearing an olive green and black jacket and dark pants according to the Marquette Police Department

The Marquette Police Department is asking residents and businesses to check their property, including vehicles, and outbuildings. They are also asking to check camera footage from 3:25am 02/22/2026 to the present time for any signs of him.

The search area is south of Washington Street from McClellen Avenue to the Lake Superior shoreline, and south to Furnace Street. Current search operations have been suspended for the night, search efforts begin again 02/24/2026 at 9:00am. Those wanting to help are asked to report to the lobby of the Hampton Inn (461 S. Lakeshore Blvd) at 10:00am on 02/24/2026.

UPDATE: As of 02/25/2026, via a statement from the Marquette Police Department, “As of 4:00pm on 02/25/2026 Massey has not been located. Search efforts have been suspended by law enforcement pending new information. Investigation of this incident is ongoing by the Marquette Police Department. Volunteer search efforts may continue, but please be mindful of private property and stay off the ice.”

UPDATE: On 04/24/2026 at approximately 3:30pm, “the body of Trenton Massey was located submerged in the water of the Lower Harbor, north of the Shiras Dock.” – Marquette Police Department
