IRON MOUNTAIN, Michigan. – Multiple fire departments and emergency crews responded to a large structure fire on the north side of Iron Mountain early today, with the initial response occurring sometime between 7:00am and 7:40am., according to radio traffic and observations on scene.
The fire involved a two-story residential structure, with heavy fire conditions reported. Due to the scale of the incident, multiple agencies were requested to assist, and crews remained on scene for multiple hours. Ladder operations were observed during the response, with firefighters working to access elevated portions of the structure. Emergency medical services were also present on scene.
According to family members who commented publicly on this page, at least three individuals were inside the home at the time of the fire. Two individuals sustained severe burn injuries. A third individual was able to escape the residence and is reported to have sustained minimal injuries. Unfortunately, 1 dog and 3 cats passed in the fire.
Family members also stated that the home is considered a total loss, and that two of the occupants are currently stable, but critical, while the third is expected to recover with little to no injury.
The list of agencies that assisted the Iron Mountain Fire Department are as follows: Breitung Township Fire Department, Iron Mountain Police Department, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, Integrity Care EMS, and DTE Energy.

As of this writing, the fire department has not yet released an official statement, and the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
